“We have always seen playing the US a bit of a pipe-dream. Like every band we would always imagine making an attempt to break into the US market but prohibitive costs have always meant that more local activities have always been prioritised when allocating budget. When we felt the
timing was right to make our first step, everything slotted into place very nicely. BMA funding was at the centre of this, along with all the support we were given whilst out there. Our trip far exceeded our expectations.”

British Music Abroad is our most popular funding programme and the opportunities it offers has transformed the careers of many musicians who have been supported. We need more support to meet demand from musicians who could benefit from this scheme. Currently we are able to fund only a third of acts who come to us for help.
