Since PRS for Music Foundation set up British Music Abroad in 2006, over 155 acts have been supported to attend showcase events. Without our support none of them could have attended and achieved career advancement through an international platform.
Tangible successes for some our our British Music Award funded artists include:
- a record deal with Rough Trade for Micachu and the Shapes
- winning an ASCAP award and Mercury Music Prize nomination for Bat For Lashes
- Let's Wrestle signing to UK promoter Kilimanjaro
- a Japanese licencing deal with Vinyl Junkie for Theoretical Girl
- Post War Years finding an international booking agent

Our Events
British Music Abroad works to support emerging UK artists in a number of ways. Alongside providing financial help to those wishing to travel overseas, BMA also hosts events - showcases and funding workshops - at music industry events across the world.
