New Music Incubator

Run in partnership with Swedish Music Information Centre and Swedish Society of Composers, New Music Incubator is a unique, international exchange programme for performers, composers, improvisers and sound artists from the UK and Sweden. The programme comprises two intensive residencies which give twenty participants the opportunity to develop their practice through creative collaboration.

The second edition of New Music Incubator is currently underway. The first residency took place at Brunel University, London, on 6th–10th September 2011. Over four intensive days, ten UK and ten Swedish participants worked collaboratively to share and explore new ideas and create new material. The group will reconvene on 19th–22nd April 2012 for the final residency at Acusticum, Northern Sweden.

Residencies have been led by the joint expertise of course tutors, Jan Hendrickse from the UK and Patrik Karlsson from Sweden.
