Vanessa leads the overall strategic direction of the Foundation and is responsible for our funding policy, partnership initiatives and resource development. Vanessa joined the Foundation in 2008 having worked previously as an independent arts consultant, on Grants strategy at European Cultural Foundation (Amsterdam) and at British Music Information Centre. In 2010, Vanessa was selected by the Cultural Leadership Programme as one of fifty “Women to Watch“, and in 2016 she won the music category in the h.Club100 awards for the most influential and innovative people in the UK’s creative industries.
Vanessa specialises in contemporary classical and jazz but enjoys attending a wide range of live gigs, site specific performances and cross art form productions including dance, film and music theatre.
Fiona Harvey, Senior Operations Director
Fiona joined PRS for Music Foundation in January 2011 and as is Operations Director and is responsible for managing finance, governance and HR. She also leads on our partnership programmes, Adopt a Composer and Composer in the House. Fiona has her own arts consultancy and has worked with a variety of organisations including Arts Council England, London Sinfonietta and London Symphony Orchestra, BBC, National Music Council, Music Education Council, Sound and Music, and Sound Connections.
Joe Frankland, Senior Grants & Programmes Manager
Joe Frankland is Industry Fund Manager at PRS for Music Foundation, responsible for the Momentum Music Fund, International Showcase Fund and similar industry focussed schemes. Joe joined the Foundation in 2014 having worked at the forefront of artist development for a number of years, helping to break artists and build careers.
Joe likes a wide range of music, with favourites including Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Feist, Kanye West, Arcade Fire, Nils Frahm, Curtis Mayfield, Bright Eyes and Janelle Monáe.
Liam McMahon, Communications Manager
Liam joined PRS for Music Foundation in April 2014 and manages the communications across the Foundation’s broad range of funds, programmes and events.
Liam has a wide and varied taste in music although his guilty pleasures include early Verve, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and (almost) anything from the Britpop era.
Naomi Belshaw, Grants & Programmes Manager
Naomi Belshaw is the Grants and Programmes Manager at the PRS for Music Foundation, where she is managing the classical, jazz and folk applications to The Open Fund for Organisations and Music Creators along with the New Music Biennial, and Beyond Borders programmes.
Naomi brings to the Foundation, a wealth of knowledge gained from her previous role as Classical Account Manager at PRS for Music where she focused on understanding the key challenges and opportunities facing the classical community and how PRS for Music might help.
Her role also involved education and outreach; helping conservatoire and university music students to understand the importance of copyright for composers and musicians, liaising with publishers and ensuring appropriate consideration of classical composers’ needs and representing PRS for Music on discussion panels and by running events.
As a keen violinist in London, Naomi regularly plays in three orchestras – Sinfonia Tamesa, Orchestra Vitae and Midsummer Opera.
Maxie Gedge, Communications Co-Ordinator
Maxie joined PRS for Music Foundation in May 2016 and delivers the communications strategy including the website and social media.
Maxie runs a musical collective, has a MMus in Sonic Arts, and currently plays drums in Graceland. She is passionate about interdisciplinary musical experiences, and Norfolk. She enjoys listening to Nick Cave, Fleetwood Mac, Melvins, Warpaint, The Breeders, Savages, Shirley Collins….
