Vanessa Reed, Co-Director of the PRS for Music Foundation has been recognised as one of the most talented and ambitious women in the UK cultural and creative industries, after being included on the Cultural Leadership Programme’s national list of ‘Women to Watch.’
The inaugural list has been established to profile the incredible achievements of 50 talented women leaders - including Vanessa Reed - who will have a huge impact on the cultural life of the UK in years to come.
In particular Vanessa has been recognised for leading the PRS for Music Foundation into a new phase of development which has resulted in growth, new partnerships and increased benefits for the musicians and organisations the Foundation supports.
Vanessa’s achievements will be celebrated at an evening reception on 10 March, held at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London. She will also be invited to become part of an ongoing ‘women to watch’ network.
Vanessa said, “I’m thrilled to have been selected for CLP’s Women to Watch list. The creative sector, and especially the music industry, would be strengthened with more women in leadership roles. All of the women on this list have a real opportunity to transform the current landscape and to create new role models for future leaders. I’m delighted that the list also includes leading women from organisations that PRS for Music Foundation has either supported or is working in partnership with – this is going to be a strong network”.
Jenni Murray, Chair of the judging panel, said: “I speak for the whole judging panel when I say that arriving at a final list from such a high quality and quantity of nominations was both a delight and a challenge. While we are obviously celebrating the achievements of outstanding individuals, it is also important to see these women as a collective force and as representative of women’s potential to reach the top of their game within this, and any other, sector. Congratulations and watch this space!”
