Acoustic Triangle - Tour of Sacred Places

Acoustic TriangleMalcolm Creese, Tim Garland and Gwilym Simcock are widely admired as jazz soloists, but also have significant backgrounds in classical and folk music. The trio's music incorporates melodic modern jazz, European 'classical' and folk styles, with influences from ancient themes, impressionism and avant-garde. Extended written works and improvisation are integrated together.

Acoustic Triangle's 2005 Tour is a celebration of real acoustic music (with no amplification whatsoever) and inspiring buildings. Twenty-eight sacred buildings - from tiny churches to vast Cathedrals - have been chosen for concerts in the summer/autumn. Some are in remote areas and others in city centres and there is a focus on encouraging arts events in sacred buildings generally. A number of the concerts are linked to festivals, and there are student workshops scheduled in some venues.

In this project the buildings have an important role in the creative process. They are inspiring for composers and performers, as well as for listeners. Original music is being created by the three members of Acoustic Triangle especially for performance in these spaces.

"A real class act…..captivating" John Fordham - The Guardian
