Farnham Festival - Paul Ayres Commission

Just So Singers‘Just So Songs’, by Paul Ayres, is to be commissioned by the Farnham Festival, with support from the PRSF for a first performance by the ‘Just So’ Singers at the 2007 Farnham Festival in Surrey. The performance will be given on  Tuesday 20 March 2007, at Farnham’s Parish Church of St. Andrews. The Work is for voices and piano, with options for improvised percussion parts.

The‘ Just So’ Singers is a choir of 60, started in 1994, and is open to special needs pupils of Surrey County Council Schools.  The students are aged between 9 and 19 years old.

Farnham Festival is a biennial, week long Festival of Music, Art and Dance, presented in a series of 10 concerts, which gives the young people of Farnham and its environs,  the opportunity to work with composers and musicians, and to perform in public in a non competitive environment. The Festival was founded in 1961 by Alan Fluck, and to date the has arranged for the commissioning of over 150 works.
