OCM presents and produces a wide variety of music from new classical composition to jazz, electronica and cross artform projects. We commission new music and work with artists to develop their work.
Much of OCM’s work is about creating ways to present music that appeals to a wide audience and therefore often involves imaginative settings and site specific work.
The PRSF grant in 2008-09 will help to support a programme which includes The Magic Hour, a site specific commission of 6 sound artists and composers in Oxford’s Botanic Garden, the F-IRE collective’s Méta Méta project in collaboration with Oxford’s Afropean Choir, The Brodksy Quartet performing works by Tunde Jegede, The Tacet Ensemble’s project Junctions with John Spiers and Jon Boden and a series of intimate café events which mix together live art, music and poetry…and much more.
The PRS Foundation have supported the Oxford Contemporary Music since 2003.
